Deal driver Stroll keeps Aston capital raise on track

Lawrence Stroll, the billionaire and Formula One racing magnate, has been instrumental in pushing ahead with UK car manufacturer Aston Martin’s capital raise, restructured on Friday, meaning the company’s turnaround plan, which includes a rights issue, is still going ahead.

The full amount being raised under the new terms is now £536m, up from £500m. The financing includes a £171m placement to an investment consortium led by Stroll and the £365m rights issue.

Deutsche BankJP Morgan and Morgan Stanley are global coordinators on the fully underwritten deal.
