EU to put ‘sustainability risks’ at heart of new reporting standards

The European Commission wants to develop new non-financial reporting standards that will compel EU companies to publish more information about the risks they face from climate change and other sustainability issues.

Commission vice president Valdis Dombrovskis said on Tuesday that he was going to ask the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group to work on preparing the new standards “as quickly as possible”.
