Earnings season slams brakes on corporate bonds

The January rush in the European corporate bond market has slowed markedly, though bankers still expect a trickle of deals before the blackout season starts in full.

Earnings reporting season begins in earnest on Tuesday and more than 700 companies are due to report results by the end of this week, according to Nasdaq.

By the end of next week, another 2,000 companies will have published their figures.
