Red Eléctrica gets debt for Hispasat buy

Spain’s Red Eléctrica Corporación has signed a €500m revolving credit facility to part finance its acquisition of compatriot communication satellite company Hispasat.

Red Eléctrica agreed to buy an 89.68% share of Hispasat from Spanish toll road management firm Abertis Infraestructuras for €949m.

The revolver has a five year maturity with two one year extension options.

Bankia and Mizuho were bookrunners on the facility, with BBVA and Kutxabank joining as mandated lead arrangers.
