Credit Suisse to pay $77m for Asia hiring practices

Credit Suisse has been fined $77m by the US authorities to settle charges around its hiring of friends and family of Chinese government officials to win investment banking business.

The bank will pay $30m to the US Securities and Exchange Commission and $47m to the US Department of Justice, according to a July 5 statement from the SEC.
