Barclays has hired Alexander Altmann as a managing director and global head of equities tactical strategies. He will report to Ronnie Wexler, global head of equities distribution.
Altman, who is filling a newly created role based in New York, will start this month. He will work closely with a range of global markets and research teams to deliver equity and market research to clients in the US.
Altmann joins Barclays from Millennium Capital Management where he was equity macro portfolio manager for two years. Before that, he was a managing director and head of equity trading strategy at Citi for almost 10 years.
He began his career in JP Morgan’s equity derivatives sales team. After three years, he joined Royal Bank of Scotland as a portfolio manager, where he worked for five years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
