LBBW has hired Lorna Greene as a managing director for its debt capital markets business in the Asia Pacific region. She last worked as the head of capital markets Asia for National Australia Bank.
Based in Singapore, Greene will report into both the capital markets desk in Singapore, and into the fixed income syndicate in Frankfurt, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Greene has 18 years of capital markets experience. Most recently, she headed capital markets for Asia ex-Australia for NAB, where she worked for eight years. Before assuming her broader role, she was head of debt capital markets and syndicate for Asia at NAB, with focus on private placements and MTNs.
Greene has extensive experience working on MTNs in the region. She started at Commerzbank's MTN desk in London in 2010 and two years later she moved to Singapore, where she assumed the leadership of the bank's debt syndicate and private placement business for the region.
LBBW was one of the lead managers on Monday's debut euro covered bond from South Korea's Shinhan Bank which attracted one of the strongest order books for an Asian covered bond in recent memory.
Greene began her career with a three year stint at Depfa Bank in the capital markets and long-term funding team, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The hire is part of a push to strengthen LBBW’s regional capital markets business in Asia Pacific, something it has been doing over the last four years.
“We started to build this [APAC franchise] since 2019/2020 although some of it might not have been visible due to Corona limitations,” said a source. “In that respect, it is probably less about an individual person but rather the entire team there.”
LBBW has had a series of new hires into their Singapore office, including Jan Krüger’s promotion last August, from head of equity capital markets in Frankfurt, to the head of financial markets.
