Chairman Lake’s Five Year Plan
HSBC global head of capital financing Spencer Lake lost no time ensuring his grasp on the International Capital Markets association when he was appointed its chair at the organisation’s annual general meeting last week.
On a loud speaker aboard the Ocean Diva on Amsterdam’s IJ lake, which is sort of not a lake, Lake announced his preferred title: Chairman Lake.
Later, and without apparent irony, an ICMA employee suggested that GlobalCapital ask Lake what his plan for ICMA’s next five years will be.
We were unable to obtain details, but Chairman Lake’s Five Year Plan is likely to include a heavy focus on conquering and unifying the capital markets, levelling the playing field for all participants and leading the way to the dictatorship of the eurotariat.
Tovarisches: may Chairman Lake live a thousand years.
