ABN AMRO last week brought aboard George Koo, Asian head of the financial institutions group at Barclays Capital in Hong Kong. He joins in a similar role as head of financial institutions and public sector, according to Yuk Min Hui, spokeswoman at ABN. Hui said Koo now oversees product sales across asset classes, including credit and equity derivatives. Koo replaces Dominic Silva, based in Hong Kong, who has taken on a new role as head of small and medium-sized enterprises banking to boost product coverage to these companies in the region.
Paul Scanlon, spokesman at Barclays, confirmed Koo has left the firm, adding no replacement has been named.
