The seemingly permanent building project that is Baker Street tube station and the pollution and tat of the Marylebone Road just added to the general bad mood as one tottered along in the freezing cold. But turn on to Marylebone High Street and everything is right with the world. It is one of the joys of our capital city that there are oases like these.
