Periphery rally back on track after European elections
An almost relentless rally in the eurozone periphery since the start of the year looked back on track this week after a fortnight of rising yields. Italy’s yields dropped furthest during the week so far — helped in part by some strong economic data and a dominant display by the reformist government in last week’s European elections — boding well for a series of bond auctions by the country this week.
