Bill Schneider, high-yield trader at Federated Investment Management in Pittsburgh, will join Columbia Management Group in Boston as senior high-yield trader. Schneider replaces Jim Keenan, who joined BlackRock Financial Management in a similar role (BW, 9/27). Schneider will be working with Kevin Cronk and Tom LaPointe, portfolio managers of the $3.5 billion high-yield fund. Cronk expects Schneider, who will run Columbia Management's entire book, to start Dec. 1. At Federated, Schneider reported to Eamonn Folan, senior high yield trader, who did not return a call. Schneider said Federated has not yet replaced him.
