Vanderbilt Capital Advisors plans to expand into the Asian markets and has hired an investment bank to assist. With the advisor on board, the Chicago-based firm will market more than $1 billion in cash investment-grade structured product collateralized debt obligations later this quarter or early next quarter, said Ed O'Hara, senior portfolio manager. He declined to name the bank.
The CDO will be marketed globally and the bank was specifically chosen for its good link to Asian investors. "We're hoping Asian investors will like that we're working with this bank and the fact we've done 12 CDOs," he said.
