Irene Garber, an equity derivatives trader at Commerzbank Securities in New York, is heading across town to Lehman Brothers for a similar role in the firm's proprietary trading operation. Mark Sanborn, managing director in proprietary trading at Lehman and to whom Garber likely reports, did not return calls.
The move comes hot on the heels of the departure of Maria Baum, former senior trader in volatility arbitrage and other strategies, who also quit the firm for Lehman in April (DW, 4/27). Garber could not be reached and Kerrie Cohen, spokeswoman at Lehman in New York, did not return calls.
Yury Shmuylovich, head of equity derivatives trading at Commerzbank in New York, to whom Garber reported, said Commerzbank expects to replace both Garber and Baum.
