UBS Lures WestLB Credit Heavyweight In U.S.

UBS Warburg has nabbed Peter Tchir, head of structured credit at WestLB in New York, to work in its structured credit operation. The hire is part of the Swiss giant's effort to beef up its credit derivatives and structured credit presence, according to officials.

Other recent hires by UBS include Kristian Sharp, head of credit trading for North America at Commerzbank Securities in New York, as an executive director and senior credit derivatives trader in London (DW, 5/5) and Matthew Reader, an interest rate trader at Lehman Brothers in London, as a director and structured credit trader. (DW, 5/11). Neither Tchir nor Sal Naro, managing director and co-head of global credit derivatives in Stamford, Conn., responded to messages.
