HSBC has hired Rod Prat, head of European sales in the financial institutions group at Deutsche Bank in London, as a managing director and head of sales for Europe and the Middle East in its global markets division.
At HSBC, Prat will report to Mike Powell, head of global markets and treasurer, according to Pierre Goad, spokesman. Prat, who starts on May 31, could not be reached for comment.
Prat joined Deutsche Bank two years ago from Goldman Sachs as head of European corporate structuring within its Global Markets unit, according to a Deutsche Bank statement at the time. He was responsible for the bank's corporate structuring effort, focusing on all financial instruments including over-the-counter derivatives, credit derivatives and other structured products for corporates.
