Barclays Capital has hired William Pang, credit derivatives trader at Deutsche Bank in Singapore, for its Hong Kong desk. The move is seen as part of a continued global build up being spearheaded in Asia by Eric Slighton, head of Asia-Pacific credit derivatives in Hong Kong. Slighton joined earlier this year with aspirations of creating a tier-one trading desk (DW, 3/21). Slighton was traveling and could not be reached.
At Deutsche Bank, Pang reported to Wai-Hong Luk, co-head of integrated credit trading for Asia in Singapore. Luk declined comment.
