Howard Chen is leaving the equity barrier options desk at RBC Capital Markets in New York. Chen said he is negotiating his departure terms after a year and a half with the bank. Chen was a v.p. in the structured products division, headed by Steven Milke.
Chen left in late December due to disagreement on how to move the barrier options business forward. He declined further comment on his departure. Calls to Milke were not returned. Before joining RBC, Chen spent 10 years with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York primarily as a quant trader with the equity barrier options team.
