Credit Suisse First Boston has hired Fater Belbachir, equity derivatives proprietary trader at Bear Stearns in London, for a similar role. At CSFB, Belbachir will report to Bertrand Cothier, head of equity derivatives prop trading at CSFB, who confirmed the hire. Belbachir will trade single stock options and enter dispersion trades for the Swiss house. Cothier said he may make further hires this year, but declined to comment in detail.
Belbachir could not be reached and Monica Orbe, spokeswoman for Bear Stearns in New York, did not return calls.
