Two big players in Deutsche Bank's global equity derivatives division in New York have resigned. Matthew Carrara, managing director and head of the Americas, and Karen Fang, a director in research products, have each called it quits.
Carrara told DW he is considering a number of different options, declining to elaborate or state why he is leaving. Fang, who could not be reached for comment, will join AIG Financial Products in Wilton, Conn. next month.
Staffers at the bank said the department has been in a state of transition for some time with people uncertain as to what is going on. Carrara indicated that it is all part of the merging of equity derivatives and global markets units that has been going on for months.
Deutsche Bank spokeswoman Michele Agostinho was unable to provide any information regarding the departures or possible replacements.
