IXIS Capital Markets has hired Michael Trenk, v.p. in JPMorgan's structured alternative investments group in New York, as a director and senior trader in structured alternative investment risk. At IXIS, Trenk will report to Eric Raiten, managing director and head of the structured fund products group, in New York. He will begin there next week.
Trenk confirmed the move and explained at IXIS he will trade mainly second loss and financing exposures to hedge funds and funds of hedge funds. At JPMorgan, he reported to Declan Canavan, managing director and global head of the structured alternative investments group in London. The firm will find a New York-based replacement for Trenk, Canavan said, adding no one is lined up yet.
