Peige Katz, v.p. in Banc of America's fund-linked structured products group, and Tim Andrews, an associate in Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft's derivatives division, have both joined HSBC's hedge fund products team in New York. Katz, hired as a senior v.p., and Andrews, hired as v.p., will structure derivatives and fund products across a broad range of assets. They declined to specify which ones. They report to Rusty Schreiber, a managing director in the fund group.
Katz joined HSBC after BofA sold its fund-linked products business to SG Corporate & Investment Banking. SG completed the acquisition earlier this month, taking 19 BofA sales, marketing and support staff. At BofA, Katz reported to Jason Griffith, head of the bank's hedge fund investors group in New York.
Andrews said he spent over five years with Cadwalader working with equity derivatives. He reported to Ray Shirazi, a partner in the capital markets group in New York.
