Calyon has recently transferred Pascal Avedissian, head of euro exotics trading in Paris, to Tokyo for a newly-created role as head of exotic rates for Japan. Dominique Blanchard, branch manager in Tokyo, said the move is part of the firm's push into the Japanese structured derivatives market this year.
Calyon also recruited a high-profile team from Nikko Citigroup for its equity derivatives business earlier this year (DW, 2/25). Blanchard said Avedissian will be in charge of both trading and structuring for exotic interest rate products and will overlook a buildup for the unit.
