HSBC recently transferred Jeffrey Tolk, senior credit structurer in New York, to a new role as Asian head of credit structuring in Hong Kong. Tolk will spearhead the structured credit group's push into regional markets. "It's an important market for the bank and we're putting more resources behind it," said Tolk. HSBC has had a presence in credit derivatives in Asia for several years but is now boosting capabilities following a build-up in the U.S (DW, 4/22). Tolk said the firm will likely hire an additional structurer or two in coming months, to add to its team of seven staffers. "We're focusing on all structured credit products but synthetic CDOs and other correlation products in particular," noted Tolk.
