BMO Bank of Montreal's London operation BMO Nesbitt Burns has boosted its structured credit products team by adding three new staff to the desk. Julia Schimmelmann, previously at Lehman Brothers, and Liz Connerty, from Commerzbank, join the credit sales team. Andrew Gates, previously at Rabobank, will join as a credit structurer. Rod Jones, executive managing director of international credit markets for BMO Nesbitt Burns, said the hires are part of an expansion of the business and a stronger focus on structured credit products.
Schimmelmann came on board last month to cover structured credit marketing for Austria and Germany and reports to Giorgio Simioni, head of sales in London. Connerty, who is on gardening leave, will cover Ireland and the U.K. and will join in early July. An official for Commerzbank confirmed Connerty's move. Gates will join BMO Nesbitt Burns as a credit structurer next week after leaving a similar role at Rabobank. An official at Rabobank confirmed Gates had left the company.
