Bear Stearns has hired Jason Cohen, an official in the global strategic trading group at Bank Of America in London, as managing director with responsibility for growing the firm's European swap trading business. Cohen will report to Antoine Abdini, head of European interest rate derivatives trading, who confirmed the hire in a statement to DW.
Jonathan Meenaghan, an interest rate swaps trader at JPMorgan, has also joined as a v.p. and trader in the same group as Cohen. The hires are part of an expansion of European rates, said Guy Cross, spokesman.
Rhiannedd Brooke, spokeswoman at Bank of America, and Sebastian Howell, spokesman at JPMorgan, did not return calls by press time.
