John Larkin, managing director in institutional and third-party sales of hedge fund products with HFR Asset Management in New York, has joined Deutsche Bank in New York as a managing director and head of the alternative investment solutions group for the Americas. It could not be determined by press time if he has joined in a new role or as a replacement. Larkin is responsible for selling structured products referencing hedge funds, private equity and real estate through its private bank and Alex. Brown, the firm's brokerage arm.
Larkin said the firm is working to build open distribution channels to outside, third-party participation (DW, 5/13). He reports to Bruce McDermott, head of the product management and investment solutions group, who did not return calls. At HFR, Larkin reported to ceo Joseph Nicholas in Chicago, who did not return calls.
