Calyon has hired Rahul Mani, a senior credit derivatives flow trader at Barclays Capital in London. Mani, who is on gardening leave and could not be contacted, will report to Olivier Gazzolo, European credit trading head in London, and starts in December. Gazzolo confirmed the hire, declining to comment on the exact nature of Mani's role.
At Barclays, Mani reported to Andrew Whittle, head of European credit derivatives, and Kai Seeger, European head of CDS trading, who himself joined the firm from ABN AMRO earlier this month. Whittle confirmed Mani's departure and said his role is being covered by staff on the desk. Market officials noted the firm is actively seeking a replacement.
