Deutsche Asset Management is boosting its marketing desk in Taiwan with a pair of derivative marketers from ABN AMRO in the city as part of foray in to structured products. Iris Chen joins as a director and Freddie Chen as a v.p., according to market officials.

The asset manager's push into structured products in the region, took force with the appointment of Ed Peter as head of Deutsche Asset Management for Asia, Australia and Japan, following a high-profile stint as Deutsche Bank's Asia Pacific ex-Japan head of equities (DW, 8/5). Peter and Kristin Silva, spokeswoman in Sydney, did not return messages by press time. Chen and Chen were traveling and could not be reached.

ABN has proved a fertile hunting ground for DeAM in recent months, with the manager tapping staff from Hong Kong, Europe and now Taiwan, according to market officials. Hui Yuk Min, spokeswoman at ABN in Hong Kong, did not return messages.
