Merrill Lynch in New York has hired Joe Farrell, an equity volatility trader at hedge fund giant Millennium Management. Farrell, reached at Merrill, declined comment on his role. He has reportedly joined the firm's proprietary trading desk, also covering equity volatility.
Farrell joined Millennium last May and worked for Chris Leone, former head of equity derivatives flow trading at Deutsche Bank, who also joined last year (DW, 4/1/05). Calls to Leone and Millennium were referred to Roy Winnick at external communications firm Kekst and Co. who declined all comment.
