Mike Chadney, head of structured products at Henderson Global Investors in London, has left the firm. He is tipped to be launching his own business, but details could not be determined. Chadney, reached on his cell phone, declined comment before the end of his gardening leave period in January.
Chadney had been responsible for the group at Henderson since 2001 and worked on a variety of different fund-wrapped and derivative-based investment structures. The asset manager is regarded as one of the first to step into instruments including equity derivatives and collateralized debt obligations. Last year, however, Dominic Powell, head of the CDO solutions group, left for JPMorgan Asset Management (DW, 11/11/05). Calls to the desk at Henderson were not returned and replacements for Powell and Chadney could not be determined.
