Outlook for IPOs darkens as Dong Energy pulls

Monday’s stockmarket turbulence prompted the Danish government to cancel the Eu2.4bn IPO of Dong Energy — the third time the deal has been pulled. This signal was particularly gloomy as equity specialists had expected the energy sector to remain safe through the present turmoil. With the IPO of Poland’s largest pay-TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat also delayed this week, EuroWeek will examine what prospects there still are for IPOs to come to market in the first quarter of 2008.
