JPMorgan capital markets business boosts profits
JPMorgan reported net income of $3.3bn for the first quarter of 2010, driven by strong earnings in its capital markets related businesses. The profit announced on Wednesday, which was up from $2.1bn in the first quarter of 2009, was boosted as the investment banking division’s net income grew $856m year on year, to stand at $2.5bn.
