Spain requests bail-out as investors doubt stress figures
Spanish economy minister Luis de Guindos formally asked Eurogroup head Jean-Claude Juncker for a bail-out of Spanish banks on Monday, as analysts scrutinised last week’s stress tests and Moody’s prepared to dish out another round of downgrades. No specific amount was requested, but markets have been trading on the assumption of up to €100bn of assistance.
