CIMB Islamic plots sterling sukuk breakthrough
CIMB Islamic is planning a big surge in Europe’s engagement with Islamic finance by opening up the UK to sukuk from well-rated southeast Asian issuers. The Malaysian bank predicts strong demand for such paper and says it is in discussions with a number of companies in its region about issuing sterling denominated paper.
