SSAs sizzle as Ireland’s €5bn revives long dated interest
With a blockbusting 10 year syndication, Ireland this week sought to draw the boldest possible line through any lingering doubts investors may have had about the health of peripheral European sovereign bond markets. The deal may even have given enough encouragement to Spain to bring a long-dated syndication of its own in a few weeks’ time if stability remains, as sovereign borrowers look to bring more supply to the primary market.
