The best (and worst) of 2009
A year which began in depression gave little hint of the market recovery to follow. It wasn’t all good news for bankers though, as December brought the curbing of bonuses in the UK. January began with depression on our minds, even though the first week of new year issuance had some cheering news from the bond markets as sovereign, supranational and agency, corporate and emerging markets borrowers lined up a succession of deals.
