ABN swipes €1.25bn of 20 year covered funding as rates rise

ABN Amro hit the covered bond market on Wednesday for an opportunistic tap of its 20 year, and despite being announced at short notice, the offering drew robust demand.

The €1.25bn increase was priced flat to the bid side of the outstanding bonds at 17bp over mid-swaps following initial guidance of 20bp area and with demand of €1.65bn. 

ABN initially launched the deal in a size of €250m almost as an afterthought on the back of reverse enquiry ...
