ndonesian state-owned gas firm Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) launched a $275m loan last Friday at a much lower margin than expected, becoming the latest Asian borrower to benefit from falling pricing in the syndicated loan market.

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) is set to close the last chapter in its refinancing story by signing banks into an oversubscribed forward start facility on Wednesday. It will be increased to $2bn from the $1.5bn it reached during a senior phase in March, after raising over $3bn in general syndication.

A pre-export financing for Russian oil firm Tatneft launched in the last week of August is attracting commitments and could raise at least $1.25bn, bankers close to the facility said on Wednesday. Officials away from it have also been encouraged by the deal, and are hoping it will set the tone for a slowly improving Russian loan market.

Xinyu Hingdeli Holdings, China’s largest luxury goods retailer, launched a HK$500m three year loan last week in a deal that will be closely watched as a sign of growing demand for mid-cap credits.

San Miguel Corp, the Philippines beer to energy conglomerate, is looking for a $600m syndicated loan in the biggest deal of its kind from the Philippines this year. San Miguel has named ANZ, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and Standard Chartered as bookrunners on the $600m three year facility and is looking to expand the group of lead banks. It is not yet clear whether the loan will be launched into general syndication.
