General Electric Capital Corp this week became the first issuer to sell bonds backed by the US government in the Hong Kong dollar market, raising HK$2.5bn ($322m) from a three year deal. GECC increased the private placement yesterday from an initial size of HK$1bn when it priced on Wednesday to HK$2.5bn. The notes pay 20bp over three month Hibor and were sold to a number of different investors.
