Semiconductor companies that outsource chip manufacturing so they can focus on research and development bypass the huge capital expenditure requirements of foundries. It comes as little surprise, then, that these fabless firms dominate the region's top 10 companies in the sector in terms of return on equity. Chris Wright reports.
