Nomura hires Malaysia research head from Citi

The expanding investment bank snatches Wai Kee Choong to head its Malaysia-based equity research team as it strives to build out its cash equities business in south-east Asia. But Citi reveals an internal replacement on the same day, with both banks making competing claims about the strength of their franchises.
