Comstar to float as 2006 builds up to be record year for Russian equity issuance

Russian telecommunications company Comstar UTS will float up to 25% of its capital for about $500m in the first half of next year, EuroWeek has learnt.

The deal, likely to be on the London Stock Exchange, is only one of many Russian IPOs expected over the coming months. Bankers are predicting that equity issuance from the country in 2006 could exceed this year's record levels.
