Unipol returns as rare credits play amid senior slowdown

Unipol Gruppo Finanziaro issued its first syndicated deal since 2003 on Friday, highlighting the way in which demand from investors looking to invest before year end could be met by infrequent issuers in the two weeks until the holiday break.

“I would expect to see more deals like Unipol’s,” said one FIG syndicate banker. “While there has been a high volume of issuance from frequent issuers, lesser known names will probably look to do opportunistic trades in the coming weeks.”
