Mystery surrounds $1bn Angola deal as VTB brings very private placement

As debuts go, it was among the very strangest. Seven days ago, international investors got their first exposure to the Republic of Angola, as VTB Capital brought a $1bn seven year Reg S note in private placement format. But the deal was shrouded in mystery, writes Francesca Young.
