Seadrill gets $1bn for offshore investments as Ocean Rig meets US accounts

Seadrill, the Norwegian offshore drilling company, sold its $1bn senior unsecured 2017 notes at the tight end of guidance on Monday.

The unrated issuer priced the five year non-callable bond at par with a 5.625% coupon. Price guidance released by lead manager Goldman Sachs on Monday afternoon was in the 5.75% area.
