Will cartel fears deter Vodafone from KDG?

Kabel Deutschland’s planned acquisition of its peer Tele Columbus was blocked by the German Federal Cartel Office this week, putting the Munich-based cable operator back in the headlines.

Last week, unconfirmed rumours emerged that Vodafone, the UK mobile phone company, might be interested in buying KDG. An attempt was thought possible as early as this week. However, the Tele Columbus news may make a difference.
