Transcapitalbank joins Alfa Bank in Russian private bank loan flurry

Mid-tier Russian bank Transcapitalbank has mandated the IFC to arrange a new ‘A/B’ structured loan. And now the latter has contacted commercial lenders to participate in the ‘B’ portion of the deal.

"Transcapitalbank is a very good name," said a senior banker at a commercial bank. "And I’m sure they will get a deal done."

The ‘A/B’ structure is favoured among multilateral emerging market lenders, including the IFC and EBRD, where the multilateral takes the smaller ‘A’ portion on its own ...
