Suriname extends consent after feedback

Suriname said on Wednesday that it had provided its bondholders with the data and reassurances they had requested, before extending the deadline on a consent solicitation that would grant the government additional debt relief while it negotiates an IMF deal.

On March 17, Suriname launched a consent solicitation requesting permission to delay payments on its 2023 and 2026 bonds as IMF discussions dragged on. Bondholders had in December already granted relief through to April 26, but this was contingent on an IMF programme being agreed by ...
