JP follows US peers and diversifies into euros

JP Morgan paid a visit to the euro market for new senior funding at the start of the week, following recent examples set by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Bankers say the cost of issuing senior debt in euros is about 10bp-15bp more expensive than it would be in dollars. 

But large US financial institutions are still taking the opportunity to grab funding in the currency, after reporting their full year results for 2020.
